What We Have Done
Our high visibility in the community demonstrates the importance of educating the public about breast and other cancers.
In our community we:
- hold an annual tag day to increase cancer awareness in the Comox Valley, with all proceeds collected being donated to our local hospital’s cancer care unit
- provide a bursary annually to a graduating student from the Comox Valley who is pursuing an education and eventual career in the Health Sciences field. Learn more about the bursaries we give.
- have participated in various municipal parades (Comox, Courtenay and Cumberland)
- have participated in the 24-Hour Relay for Life (relay fundraiser to support research and services for people living with cancer)
- have participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure (raising funds to help create a future without breast cancer)
- have volunteered in the Terry Fox Run (raising money for cancer research)
- have volunteered at the Dance de Rock (raising money to eradicate cancer and to enhance the quality of life for people living with cancer – through Tour de Rock)
