Who We Are
Hope Afloat Canada is a group of hard-working, fun-loving women who enjoy the sport of dragon boat racing. The race that we feel we are truly winning though is the race against breast cancer.
We have all had a diagnosis of breast cancer. Our hope is that the message "there is life,love and laughter after treatment" will reach other women and men facing the disease and will perhaps make a positive difference to their recovery.
We were formed in 2001 and range in ages from 41 to 78 years. Getting up early in the morning to go to our practices isn’t difficult as we are fortunate to practice in the picturesque Comox Harbour beneath the beautiful backdrop of the Comox Glacier.
We continue to excel as a team in performance, physical fitness and team spirit.
